Energis is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our growing manufacturing client for a
Product Development Engineer.
The role offers a 4 day working week.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for an innovative manufacturer committed to designing and developing market-leading products.
You'll play a key role in bringing new products from concept through to production, while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and product development.
Applications are invited from graduates with a placement year, as well as more experienced candidates.
The Role
- Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you'll be involved in:
- Designing and developing new and existing products.
- Producing CAD/CAM drawings and technical documentation.
- Supporting prototype manufacture, testing and product validation.
- Creating and improving manufacturing processes using LEAN principles.
- Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and production teams.
- Supporting the commissioning and optimisation of new manufacturing equipment.
About You
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 1-2 years' experience in a design or product development role.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software (Solid Edge or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with an interest in manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience with automation, robotics, sheet metal manufacturing or CNC programming would be highly advantageous.
