Our client is an innovative and growing manufacturing business operating within a high-precision production environment. They are now seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support operational excellence initiatives, improve manufacturing efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across production processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong manufacturing background combined with a passion for process optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor lean manufacturing strategies to improve productivity, minimise waste, and enhance product quality.
- Analyse production and machining data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing machining time, labour costs, scrap, and downtime.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to optimise manufacturing performance and equipment reliability.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, tooling improvements, and process modifications where appropriate.
Essential Criteria:
- Third level qualification (ideally degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (4-5 years) in process / manufacturing engineering.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and process improvement tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Salary is £45-50k depending upon experience. The company operates an early finish on Fridays!
