Based in Co Antrim, our client operates in the construction sector and is currently seeking a HSEQ Officer to join their existing HSEQ team. The successful HSEQ Officer will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the HSEQ Management System across 2 sites in the Co Antrim / Belfast areas. You will promote a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement, leadership, empowerment and accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, develop and audit the integrated HSEQ Management system to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is sustained.
- Utilise the internal auditing process to ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements, HSEQ best practice, environmental permits/consents and all applicable standards; leading the external audits where required.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external regulators and stakeholders.
- Assist in ensuring the delivery of suitable HSEQ instruction, information and training.
- Proactively monitor and enforce HSEQ compliance across the sites, and advise on suitable control measures.
- Assist in the implementation and continual review of HSEQ policies, procedures and risk assessments ensuring adequate control and compliance with relevant legislation/guidance.
- Assist site management in the investigation of all accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, non-conformances and near misses. Provide advice on suitable improvement and corrective action/s.
- Assess environmental impacts and support targets to reduce CO2 emissions, direct and indirect waste, energy consumption and water usage.
- Assist in maintaining contractor approval system and ensure stringent contractor control procedures are followed.
Criteria:
- Previous relevant experience working in Health & Safety within manufacturing, engineering, construction or similar environment.
- Good IT skills.
- NEBOSH Certification / Diploma is desirable.
- Accredited Internal Auditor for HSEQ Management Systems would be highly desirable.
Salary on offer is in the region of Β£30-35k depending upon experience. The role comes with an excellent benefits package including life insurance, healthcare cash scheme and pension.
