On behalf of our engineering client, Energis is seeking a skilled Design Manager to work on the development of innovative design solutions. The successful Design Manager will play a key role in driving the development of bespoke architectural metal products, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations. This role is based in the outskirts of Belfast in Co Down.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the key point of contact across the business for technical support of bespoke metalwork projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams.
- Manage the product development lifecycle.
- Oversee certification and testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with external engineers and consultants, building key partnerships.
- Manage budgets and timelines for product development projects.
- Undertake chief design work on bespoke projects, including CAD details.
- Liaise with customers, architects, and clients for major design projects.
- Provide technical information and drawings to support the sales team.
- Delegate design workload to appropriate members of the design office team, where appropriate.
- Attend and manage technical team meetings where appropriate.
- Manage CAD software purchasing and maintenance within the design office.
Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Product Design, or related field.
- Proven experience in product development within the building materials or construction industry (minimum 5 years).
- Excellent project management abilities, including budgeting and timeline management.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and certification processes.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Salary is up to £60k depending upon experience. Benefits include pension and subsidised travel. Working hours are 9-5 with an early finish on Friday!
