Energis is working with a well-known equipment manufacturer near Dungannon who has a need for an additional Continuous Improvement Engineer. The main purpose of this role is to support and lead key projects focused on improving efficiency and growing capacity, developing quality assurance procedures, standards and specifications in order to deliver consistency across all areas of the business.

The Role

  • Help improve current processes and align these with the business strategy
  • Identify necessary changes, agree these with key stakeholders and implement these as standard practice
  • Identify best practice, both internally and externally
  • Develop an organisation-wide continuous improvement ethos
  • Support the manufacturing operation in solving output and quality issues, adopting a systematic approach
  • Practice a hands-on approach in training and coaching shop floor personnel into new improvement practices and follow up regularly
  • Keep informed with manufacturing trends and approaches to developing efficient solutions
  • Support the production team in the resolution of engineering related issues
  • Adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management System & ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System

Criteria:

  • Qualified to Third Level in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline
  • 3 Years experience in Continuous Improvement/Manufacturing Engineering within a production environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • A strong knowledge of production processes and an ability to see improvements
  • Ability to manage projects and track through to completion
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • A capacity to build effective team working relationships across a wide range of disciplines
  • Excellent organization/analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Flexibility in approach and in working arrangements
  • Administrative and report writing skills
  • An ability to promote and facilitate change
  • Strong IT Skills
