Energis is currently recruiting for a Steel Detailer for our construction client based near Lisburn. The successful Detailer will create accurate fabrication and assembly drawings, coordinating closely with engineering and design teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and material specifications. In-house product specific training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for structural steel components using Tekla Structures.
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to produce comprehensive fabrication details.
- Collaborate with design managers, structural engineers, and manufacturing teams to verify accuracy and resolve conflicts.
- Integrate construction material specifications (steel grades, fixings, fasteners, coatings, etc.) into detailing workflows.
- Participate in clash detection and model coordination meetings using BIM tools.
- Apply knowledge of construction and Design for Manufacture (DfMA) principles to optimize detailing workflows.
- Have a basic knowledge of construction materials like timber, cladding, windows, and doors.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 1-2 years' previous experience as a Steel Detailer.
- Proficient in 3D modelling software (preferably Tekla Structures); understanding of digital BOM export processes is beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, including structural steel types, bolting systems, welding practices, and finishes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to relay complex technical information.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous involvement in large-scale projects or high-volume manufacturing environments.
Salary is in the region of £40k depending upon experience. Benefits include: Pension, Bupa Medicash benefits, Flexible working.
