Based near Lisburn, our client is a successful manufacturing business who are currently on the market for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the team. The successful Health & Safety Manager will manage the health and safety function within the plant, working with all business units ensuring that health and safety is a key priority in all areas.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure line managers and other relevant personnel are trained in respect of legislative requirements.
- Ensure employees can perform their duties in a safe environment, taking direct action to prevent potential accidents or incidents.
- Analyse statistics to identify underlying trends and patterns.
- Carry out regular safety audits and risk assessments in all areas and on all machinery and equipment.
- By continuous improvement aim for an accident-free safe working environment.
- Keep up to date with developments and ensure company compliance.
Criteria:
- Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Nebosh or NVQ) with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- A working knowledge of Health and Safety management improvement systems & techniques.
- Experience of producing risk assessments and carrying out H&S audits.
- Previous experience liaising with regulators i.e. HSENI.
Salary is up to £50k depending upon experience. Benefits include pension, excellent holidays and an early Friday finish.
