About the Role
The successful candidate will support the Grid & Electrical Team in the management of all Electrical Engineering matters involved in the delivery of large-scale renewable projects including wind, solar & battery storage. The role will require involvement in the various project stages from design, development, tendering, construction, commissioning until handover to the Renewables Operations Team. Projects will involve working with many different electrical contractors, OEMs, external consultants, ESBN, EirGrid, NIE & SONI at various system voltages from LV up to 220 kV.
- Support the Grid & Electrical Team and the wider Asset Development Team with electrical design aspects and evaluations of early-stage development projects.
- Support the Grid & Electrical Team in all aspects of project delivery / contract management to ensure that electrical elements of projects including contestable grid infrastructure are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected quality standard.
- Interface and management of contractors and utility companies to ensure the successful delivery of contestable assets.
- Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in specifications.
- Review of Employers Requirements for individual projects and assistance with preparation of same for Tendering and Contract purposes.
- Monitor design and technical submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of key long lead items.
- Attend site monthly meetings to ensure that progress of Electrical works is monitored & maintained in accordance with overall construction programme.
- Witness site acceptance tests for all major electrical plant and attend factory acceptance tests where required.
- Update and record project progress on system trackers which are fully aligned with the construction schedule.
- Work as an integral part of the commissioning process and review commissioning requirements where required.
- Interface with EirGrid, ESBN, NIE & SONI with respect to initial dispatch tests on renewable projects during commissioning phase and until maximum export capacity is achieved.
About you
Key Criteria
- Proven experience in the design and / or construction of HV / MV substations and/or HV / MV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Full Driving License.

- Proven experience in design and construction of renewable project electrical works packages.
- Utility scale renewable generation projects.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
