About Us

Energia Group is a leading energy company in both RoI and NI, dedicated to decarbonising Ireland's energy system. Through three key units - Renewables, Flexible Generation, and Customer Solutions (Energia in RoI, Power NI in NI) - we offer advanced energy solutions. We're committed to driving Ireland's renewable future and supporting local communities through initiatives like employee volunteering and community benefit funds.

As a leading, long-term energy provider and infrastructure investor in Ireland, Energia Group currently supplies approximately 17% of the island of Ireland's total electricity requirements and is responsible for approximately 20% of wind power capacity installed on the island. We are looking for people who want to create impact in their roles and are energised to achieve their personal, professional and aspirational goals throughout their career with us.

Energia Group has invested €3bn in the Positive Energy programme, focusing on renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, battery storage, and green hydrogen. This initiative aims to add 2.6 GW of renewable capacity by 2030 to meet government targets and achieve Net Zero. Currently, we own and operate 360 MW of wind assets and purchase electricity from 1,247 MW of renewable capacity in Ireland. We are progressing with further onshore windfarms, solar farms, hydrogen production and battery storage to help decarbonise the energy system. Our talented employees are our greatest asset, and we invest in their growth through Learning and Development programmes. We foster a safe, inclusive work environment, champion diversity, and are seeking people with positive energy to make an impact in their roles through a meaningful career with us.

About the Role

This new role will support our Renewables team with projects across onshore wind, solar, battery and other renewable technologies. This key role will be a fundamental part of our team - managing multiple renewables projects through development, planning, design input, site activity management, commissioning, and handover. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project development and construction, preferably within the energy industry or other substantial infrastructural projects. We are looking for experienced construction managers who excel in communication and thrive on delivering successful projects. As this team is in growth phase, this role presents an exciting opportunity to join at the early stages of project development and plays a vital role in our contribution to the energy transition.

Responsibilities

  • Provide client-side leadership of construction-phase Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to Irish HSA PSDP/PSCS or UK CDM regulations, planning conditions and consent requirements.
  • Act as the client's on-site representative, overseeing day-to-day construction delivery to ensure projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to required quality standards, and successfully handed over to the Operational business.
  • Lead client oversight of construction risk management, including temporary works, lifting operations, traffic management, contractor performance and emergency preparedness.
  • Proactively identify constructability, sequencing and access constraints, driving early resolution with contractors, designers and project teams.
  • In conjunction with the employer appointed Owners Engineer, the role will also require the careful administration of construction contracts on behalf of the client, managing variations, interim payments, extensions of time and final accounts, and ensuring consistent application of contract conditions.
  • Support commercial negotiations and manage construction claims and disputes, providing input to risk and opportunity management.
  • Oversee construction quality control and ensure compliance with employers' requirements and company construction standards.
  • Manage construction-phase stakeholder interfaces, acting as liaison with ESB Networks, EirGrid / DNOs, Local Authorities and landowners to coordinate approvals, site access, outages and grid connection.
  • Ensure ongoing planning and environmental compliance throughout construction, in coordination with internal planning and environmental teams.
  • Deliver regular progress, cost and risk reports, maintaining comprehensive site records and contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Input into Energia's Construction Standards, Lessons Learned and Continuous improvement.
