About the Role: As the organisation accelerates its data and digital transformation journey, the Business Intelligence function plays a critical role in enabling smarter, faster, and more informed decision-making. With strong senior leadership commitment to strengthening our analytics capability, this role will play a key part in shaping how data is leveraged across the business. As a Senior QlikView Developer, you will be central to this mission, designing and delivering high-quality BI solutions that combine robust SQL-driven data pipelines with scalable QlikView applications. You will take ownership of data modelling, optimisation, and platform performance, ensuring teams across Finance, Operations, Customer Experience, Digital, and other key business areas have access to accurate, timely, and meaningful insights. This is a hands-on senior role where you will influence technical direction, improve BI standards, and mentor others. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable data products, while continually enhancing our BI architecture, QVD layers, and SQL foundations. Your contribution will be instrumental in strengthening our data infrastructure and supporting the organisation's long-term growth and performance.
Day-to-day, here's what your new role would look like:
- Qlik Development: Design, develop, maintain QlikView dashboards, QVD layers, and data models. Build efficient SQL-driven pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Implement incremental loads strategies, optimised expressions, reusable data models, and best-practice BI architecture across both QlikView and Qlik Sense environment.
- Data Modelling and Integration: Write and optimise complex SQL for reporting, transformation, and data preparation. Integrate data from multiple systems and ensure smooth end-to-end data flows. Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes to support scalable analytics delivery.
- Platform Administration and Support: Administer and optimise QlikView Server & Publisher, including scheduling, reloads, and governance. Monitor and maintain platform health, security, and access controls; ensure compliance with organisational standards. Conduct root cause analysis and deliver long-lasting fixes to production issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Technical Leadership: Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights. Provide technical leadership, including guidance, standards, and mentorship within the QlikView team. Contribute to BI strategy, continuous improvement, and the evolution of data and reporting frameworks.
About you Key Criteria What You'll Need: Expert-level SQL skills, including complex queries and experience in working with relational databases. Extensive QlikView development experience covering dashboard design, scripting, QVD architecture, incremental loads, and advanced set analysis. Strong data modelling skills and experience integrating data from multiple sources. Hands-on experience with QlikView Server/Publisher administration and performance optimisation. Ability to design scalable and performant data pipelines and troubleshoot data quality issues.
Desirable Criteria - These help decide between those who meet all the above key criteria: Experience of supporting systems for the Energy and Utility sectors. Experience with Qlik Sense development. Experience with reporting or analytics in a regulated or high-availability environment. Understanding of data governance, security models, and metadata management.
