The Role

Energia Group have an exciting opportunity for a Group Financial Accountant based in Belfast. Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, the Group Financial Accountant (T&I) will support all finance reporting requirements for the Technology & Innovation (T&I) function across the Group. The Group Finance Team is responsible for the delivery of best in class accurate and timely periodic financial accounting and management reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, and the Group T&I function is responsible for all IT activities across the Group. Working closely with the Group Finance and T&I teams, this position serves as the Finance Lead for the T&I function providing financial reporting, insights and analyses and being the key point of contact for all finance-related activities. This role will suit a dedicated and highly motivated individual who can collaborate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will enjoy technical accounting and financial reporting and be a self-starter with a proactive and curious approach to your work. An ambitious and resourceful candidate will discover a lot of scope and opportunity for this role to develop and evolve.

What you'll need

  • A professional accounting qualification.
  • Proven ability in accounts preparation, financial and management reporting, interpretation and application of technical accounting standards, and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to build relationships across the Group, gain buy-in and lead with confidence in reporting the financial position of the T&I function.
  • Possess a track record of using and developing systems to identify and provide relevant financial and non-financial information, KPIs and metrics through a data-led approach, coupled with strong IT skills.
  • Experience engaging with and managing internal and external auditors to work within strict reporting deadlines.
