Overview

Are you passionate about creating safer, greener, and more efficient workplaces? We’re looking for a proactive and experienced SHE Advisor to join a leading engineering contractor on a temporary basis. This is your chance to make a real impact across high-profile infrastructure projects in the South West of England or Slough.

The Role:

As a SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across multiple sites. You’ll support operational teams, promote best practices, and help drive continuous improvement in SHE performance.

  • Monitor and report on SHE performance at regional and depot levels.
  • Support the development and implementation of SHE improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct site visits and advise on day-to-day SHE matters.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses – sharing lessons learned.
  • Review RAMS, CPPs, and other documentation for SHE compliance.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and wellbeing campaigns.
  • Ensure adherence to UK legislation, CDM regulations, and client standards.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience in an operational SHE role.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Background in Construction, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or DNO.
  • Proficiency with MS Teams, Excel, and SHE databases.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) in occupational health, safety, or environmental discipline.
  • IOSH (Associate / Tech / Grad) or IEMA membership.
  • 1x SHE Advisor – Slough
