We’re seeking a commercially focused Estimator to join our Work Winning team in Swindon. You’ll be instrumental in producing high-quality, competitive pricing for tenders and supporting early contractor involvement (ECI) projects, working closely with Bid Managers and technical specialists across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing- Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for tenders and budget pricing
- Supporting clients during early contractor involvement stages
- Collaborating with Bid Managers to ensure competitive and compliant pricing
- Advising on the most cost-effective design and construction solutions
- Pricing labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, preliminaries and temporary works
- Working with Procurement to assess and select supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Contributing to risk and opportunity reviews
- Presenting pricing build-ups at pre-settlement and settlement meetings
- Supporting handover for successful bids and learning from post-tender feedback
- Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering or construction
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and procurement legislation
- Commercial awareness of different forms of contract
- Confident user of estimating software and pricing tools
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams
- A proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused approach
