Job Title: Operational Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary £55,000 – £60,000 + Benefits

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Engineer based in the Bristol or Birmingham office on a permanent basis covering a pipeline of work across the midlands and south-west regions.

Due to exponential growth and a consistent workload, we are currently looking for a Senior Engineer (mechanical & electrical) to join our Operational Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of this unique role and act as a key player to support the continues growth of this successful service.

Key Responsibilities

You will undertake a lot of surveys and refurbishment projects within commercial office and industrial spaces for very high-profile clients.

  • Undertaking Dilapidation reports
  • Producing pre-acquisition and disposal technical due diligence reports
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance CAPEX reports.
  • Management of projects and acting as project lead
  • Input into innovation; continual improvement of services and products
  • Supporting the wider teams providing technical support and maintenance management duties
  • Meet target KPIs on WIP management including HIW
  • Business Development and Client Care awareness

What you need

  • Relevant engineering degree, inclusive of building services modules or equivalent education/practical experience
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills are required and the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues is essential
  • Client facing with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience within a consultancy or from an M&E project engineering background
  • Flexible and willing to cover a variety of work and travel to site across regions
  • Knowledgeable in statutory compliance, regulations and standards relating to operational/existing building services.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to identify and provide professional advice for the following building services is essential;
  • Electrical Distribution systems
  • Ventilation systems including VAV, heat recovery etc
  • Heating systems including heat generation, distribution and terminal unit types
