A building services design team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their London office. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in mechanical building services design and be Chartered or working towards Chartership.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to mechanical design strategy and carry out design calculations.
- Produce drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules.
- Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and energy‑efficiency requirements.
- Lead M&E project delivery, including coordination and attending meetings.
- Review work of junior engineers and support their development.
- Build strong relationships with clients and design teams.
- Provide multidisciplinary input and support sustainability goals.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and building systems.
- Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to explain design decisions clearly.
- Experience with software such as Hevacomp/IES, Barbour Index, Microsoft Office.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical/Building Services/Architectural Engineering.
- Project management experience in a similar role.
Desirable:
- CAD or modelling software experience (e.g., AutoCAD, IES).
- Knowledge of low‑carbon design, renewable technologies, BREEAM, or similar.
Personal Qualities
