Leading UK Engineering Consultancy

I'm working with a well-established and highly regarded engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Kent team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop towards Principal / Chartered level within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role:

  • You’ll be involved in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, education, retail, and industrial sectors, taking responsibility for both technical design and project coordination.
  • Working alongside Technical Managers and Directors, you will:
  • Produce designs, calculations, reports, and drawings
  • Manage your own workload across multiple projects
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Assist in delivering projects to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Attend site visits, inspections, and design meetings
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety standards
  • Contribute to project planning, resourcing, and coordination

What I'm Looking For:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered, or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
  • Strong experience in structural design across a range of sectors
  • Good understanding of Eurocodes & UK Building Regulations
  • Materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
  • Modern methods of construction (MMC/modular)
  • Experience with software such as Tedds, Tekla, MasterSeries, or similar
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
