I'm working with a well-established and highly regarded engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Kent team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop towards Principal / Chartered level within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role:
- You’ll be involved in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, education, retail, and industrial sectors, taking responsibility for both technical design and project coordination.
- Working alongside Technical Managers and Directors, you will:
- Produce designs, calculations, reports, and drawings
- Manage your own workload across multiple projects
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Assist in delivering projects to agreed deadlines and budgets
- Attend site visits, inspections, and design meetings
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety standards
- Contribute to project planning, resourcing, and coordination
What I'm Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered, or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
- Strong experience in structural design across a range of sectors
- Good understanding of Eurocodes & UK Building Regulations
- Materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
- Modern methods of construction (MMC/modular)
- Experience with software such as Tedds, Tekla, MasterSeries, or similar
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
