About the Role
We’re looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Estimator to join our team. We are a specialist M&E contractor working across a wide range of commercial and residential building services projects.
You’ll be responsible for preparing cost estimates and tender packages for both mechanical and electrical systems. Projects range in size and complexity and cover everything from plumbing and air conditioning to power systems, lighting, security, and BMS installations. This is a great opportunity to work on varied and interesting projects in a growing, professional business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and specifications
- Preparing accurate cost estimates for:
- Mechanical services: commercial/domestic plumbing, ductwork, air conditioning, comms room cooling (CRAC units), mechanical ventilation, underfloor heating, chilled water, sanitaryware, rainwater disposal, passive ventilation, renewable energy, sprinklers, dry risers, mechanical controls, drainage, commissioning
- Electrical services: high/low/extra-low voltage systems, lighting & controls, power & power monitoring, BMS, fire detection, security systems, PA/VA, nurse/disabled call systems, electrical maintenance, critical power upgrades, testing & inspection
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar role with an M&E contractor
- Good understanding of both mechanical or electrical systems in building services
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications
- HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar
- Minimum of 3 years' estimating experience in the building services industry
