My client is an expanding international M&E consultancy with a strong reputation in low-energy design and delivering high-performance technical solutions. Their expertise shapes the world’s digital infrastructure and enables clients to realise ambitious zero‑carbon goals. They support the entire building lifecycle, saving clients time, money, and complexity through their integrated, people-focused approach.

They are now seeking a Data Centre Due Diligence Project Manager (Civils Focus) to join their London team and help drive the development of next‑generation data centre sites across EMEA.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Definition & Technical Leadership
    • Shape the civil engineering scope for new sites, interpreting client goals and project constraints
    • Conduct early site appraisals (topography, geology, hydrology, access, utilities)
    • Deliver first-pass feasibility assessments (drainage, earthworks, access roads, civil solutions)
    • Identify early-stage risks including flooding, contamination, and ground stability
    • Help shape the companies strategic direction for civil engineering excellence
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Lead projects with client teams and guide early decision-making
    • Liaise with authorities, utility providers, and environmental agencies
    • Represent projects in technical discussions with planning and regulatory bodies
  • Brief Development & Design Management
    • Develop and manage civil engineering briefs covering:
    • Earthworks & grading
    • Utility diversions & provisions
    • Highway access & transport links
    • Embed sustainability (SuDS, low‑carbon design, climate resilience)
    • Coordinate early-stage multidisciplinary design activities
  • Surveys & Investigations
    • Commission and manage site surveys:
    • Topographical, GI, utility mapping, FRA
    • Oversee early environmental screenings (ecology, archaeology, heritage)
    • Build and manage project programmes and key civil milestones
    • Support early cost planning and budget development
    • Identify critical path items and civil engineering dependencies

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Chartered status preferred)
  • Strong experience in data centres, infrastructure, or major industrial projects
  • Knowledge of UK planning and environmental regulations
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with RIBA Stages 0–2 and international data centre development standards
  • Experience with digital coordination tools (BIM, GIS)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK and Europe
