An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy in London on a contract basis, operating outside IR35. This hybrid position involves working within a multidisciplinary building services engineering team, contributing to the delivery of electrical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing electrical building services designs, producing technical documentation, and supporting coordinated BIM models. Based in the London office with flexible hybrid working, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in high-quality projects alongside a team of experienced engineers and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering electrical building services designs across a range of projects
  • Producing electrical schematics, layouts, and associated technical documentation
  • Supporting project delivery through multiple RIBA design stages
  • Working collaboratively with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and architects
  • Assisting with BIM coordination and integration of multidisciplinary designs
  • Preparing and reviewing technical drawings and design calculations
  • Contributing to successful project delivery in line with quality, programme, and technical standards

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within the building services sector
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services systems
  • Experience in producing design calculations and technical drawings
  • Proven experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to support projects across multiple RIBA stages

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Revit or other BIM modelling software
  • Familiarity with Navisworks
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments
