About Us:
We are a growing civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Uxbridge. Our work spans a variety of projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. We're now looking for an experienced and organised Business Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day operations of the business and support the leadership team.
About the Role:
This is a key role in our company, supporting the directors and keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be responsible for overseeing office operations, ensuring we stay compliant with industry and legal standards, managing basic bookkeeping, coordinating marketing activities, and providing some personal assistance to the directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Office Management: Oversee daily operations of the office, manage suppliers, organise meetings, and ensure smooth internal communications.
- Compliance: Make sure the company remains compliant with industry regulations, insurance requirements, and health & safety policies.
- Bookkeeping: Support our accountants with day-to-day financial admin – invoicing, tracking, payroll support, and basic reporting.
- Marketing: Help coordinate marketing efforts including website updates, social media, newsletters, and promotional material.
- PA Support: Assist the directors with diary management, travel booking, correspondence, and general admin support.
- HR & Admin: Help manage staff records, onboarding, policies and procedures, and support with recruitment admin when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar office or operations management role, ideally within a professional services or engineering environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good understanding of compliance, office finance processes, and general business operations.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable with learning new software/tools.
- A proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with civil/structural engineering or construction industry.
- Experience with bookkeeping software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks).
- Basic marketing knowledge or experience working with marketing agencies/freelancers.
