Job Title: Building Safety Co-ordinator | Location: Borehamwood

A marketing leading Property Management business in Borehamwood is seeking a Building Safety Co-ordinator to join their growing team. The role focuses on Facilities assistance with strong knowledge of Fire Safety and the Building Safety Act within the residential sector. The Building Safety Team maintains high standards of fire and building safety across a large residential property portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to become a vital part of the business and to learn and grow within the FM and Building Safety sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Fire and Building Safety Team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Organise and maintain records, including compliance software management and documentation related to fire and building safety, ensuring they are accessible and up to date.
  • Diary management and preparation/distribution of reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant documents to support the team\’s activities.
  • Manage the Building Safety inbox and act as the point of contact for key stakeholders within significant projects, escalating issues as required.
  • Liaison and Communication: Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to gather and disseminate information, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external partners to support the team\’s objectives and enhance cooperation.
  • Compliance and Safety: Monitor compliance with fire safety regulations and building safety standards, particularly for relevant buildings over 11m in height or with five or more floors.
  • Assist in the implementation of fire safety measures and improvements as directed by the team, contributing to the overall safety of properties.
  • Stay informed about updates to fire safety legislation and best practices, ensuring the team remains compliant and up to date with industry standards.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to fire and building safety.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Understanding of the relevant legislation surrounding Building Safety including Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Regulations 2021
  • Previous experience in the facilities management sector.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information and managing several projects at the same time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with keen attention to detail.
