The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the project leadership team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of health and safety performance across the project, ensuring best practice, compliance, and a proactive safety culture are embedded throughout all site activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote health, safety, and wellbeing across multiple project sites
- Advise and support project directors, managers, supervisors, and contractors on all H&S matters
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure statutory and company standards are met
- Lead accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions
- Manage H&S reporting, statistics, trend analysis, and improvement plans
- Develop and deliver safety campaigns, lessons learned sessions, and site inductions
- Review and support H&S documentation including RAMS, procedures, and management plans
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement and champion a positive behavioural safety culture
What You Bring
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager role within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice
- Experience leading audits, investigations, and safety improvement initiatives
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification
- Relevant CSCS card and membership of IOSH or similar professional body preferred
- Bonus: Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or multi-site projects
