I’m currently partnering with a well established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy that’s looking to appoint an Associate Director of Structural Engineering to lead and grow their Cambridge office. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Structural Engineer who’s ready to take on a leadership role, someone who thrives on both the technical delivery and the business development side of consultancy work. The successful candidate will help drive the next stage of growth in Cambridge, working on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning commercial, residential, science, and technology sectors.
The Role
- Lead and deliver structural projects from concept through to completion
- Build and nurture client relationships across the region, developing new business opportunities
- Manage and mentor a growing team of engineers and technicians
- Oversee quality assurance, technical excellence, and compliance
- Represent the consultancy at client meetings, networking events, and industry forums
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng)
- Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE)
- 10+ years’ experience in structural engineering, ideally in a consultancy setting
- Strong design and software skills (Tekla, Tedds; Revit/BIM experience beneficial)
- A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent communication skills
