The business is a globally recognised, multi-disciplinary engineering and design consultancy. They are seeking an Associate Architect – Laboratory Consulting to lead complex science & life sciences projects. Work on cutting-edge laboratories, research facilities, and innovation districts with world-leading clients. Involvement across the full project lifecycle: concept design, delivery, and post-occupancy evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead laboratory consulting projects as Project Leader, managing delivery and coordination.
  • Provide expert advice to clients, architects, and project stakeholders.
  • Drive multi-disciplinary collaboration across architecture, engineering, and design teams.
  • Oversee laboratory planning, briefing, and technical design solutions.
  • Produce reports, presentations, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the science & technology sector.
  • Support bid preparation and fee proposals.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Promote team wellbeing and strong client relationships.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience leading science sector or laboratory design projects.
  • Strong background in laboratory planning and briefing.
  • Experience delivering complex projects, including fit-outs and building services coordination.
  • Advanced Revit modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience across life sciences or related sectors preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Office is advantageous.
  • Passion for innovation within laboratory and research environments.
