Energean plc is seeking an experienced lawyer for the role of Senior Legal Counsel, based in London. This UK-qualified, corporate/energy lawyer will join our UK legal team, working closely with, and reporting to, the Group General Counsel, and supporting our dynamic and fast-paced business.
Key Accountabilities- Provide advice on a wide range of legal matters affecting the business operations, including corporate, commercial and M&A transactions, and asset/JV management aspects.
- Work closely with the Group General Counsel and other members of our UK and international legal team to support business growth and operations.
- Provide assistance on litigation and arbitration proceedings, including financing transactions, as they arise.
- Work with and support our legal teams globally when required.
- Support key internal stakeholders in connection with all legal matters.
- Liaise with external lawyers and other advisers to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and comprehensively.
- Extensive UK post-qualification experience in private practice and/or in-house in a corporate/transactional and/or energy environment.
- Minimum of 5 years PQE.
- Experience working on commercial projects and asset/JV management experience.
- Previous in-house experience in the industry is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with the implementation and/or use of legal operations is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, independent and proactive approach; commercially focused; self-motivated and practical.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Helpful, flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs.
