We produce, sell, and install turbines for our clients and offer high-standard service contracts for maintenance and repair throughout their lifecycle. We now have a new opportunity based in the UK for a qualified Legal Counsel to join our dedicated Global Legal team. The role will focus on legal affairs in the UK within our Western Europe region.
As a leading company in the onshore wind energy industry, ENERCON has been setting technological standards for 40 years. We are seeking a UK-based Legal Counsel to support the Global Legal team, primarily focusing on UK legal matters. The role involves working independently in the UK and liaising with stakeholders including the Western Europe Legal team, senior managers, and external partners.
The Role of Senior Legal CounselThe main purpose is to support the CEO and business units with day-to-day legal affairs related to the company's UK activities. Responsibilities include:
- Legal advice
- Negotiations
- Drafting legal documents
- Ensuring policy compliance
- Dispute resolution
- Contract negotiations
- Legal monitoring
- Supporting various departments with contracting and litigation
- Enhance legal awareness within the UK and Western Europe
- Stay updated on UK legal developments
- Provide legal advice to UK and regional business units
- Negotiate with external partners
- Draft legal documents
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Advise on dispute resolution and claim management
- Negotiate TSA and EPK contracts
- Implement corporate policies from regional and global leadership
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes
- Support sales, project management, procurement, and other departments
- Coordinate litigation and court proceedings
- Maintain and develop standard contract templates
- Provide legal training and communicate with stakeholders, including investors and authorities
- Occasional business travel may be required
Salary circa £95,000 per annum, depending on experience. 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday. 34 days annual leave (including public holidays). Long service leave, pension, life insurance, private medical, health cashback, income protection, mortgage advice, travel allowances, Cycle to Work scheme.
Qualifications & Qualities- Fully qualified UK solicitor
- Experience in a similar legal role, UK or international firm
- Knowledge of UK private and commercial law
- Understanding of construction contracts such as FIDIC
- Experience with international commercial contracts
- Knowledge of legal, financial, and commercial aspects in technical projects
- Optional: engineering, construction, or wind energy knowledge
- Strong accountability and communication skills in English
