Our Wind Turbine Technicians play an essential role in ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of our onshore wind turbines. Our technicians are at the heart of our service business, and you will receive full support from our team of experts in your day-to-day role.
Your role as an Electrical Wind Turbine Technician:
- Working together as a 2 or 3 person team, you will be responsible for fault finding, inspections, testing, repairs, risk assessments and maintaining safety standards to ensure our turbines are operating efficiently.
- You will be based within your own geographical area; however, you may be asked to travel for training or to support other areas.
- Every day is different, you are required to fault find, troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- You will follow health and safety procedures and attend training and workshops that are designed to support your safety.
- We will provide exceptional training and guidance to ensure that you can climb our wind turbines safely and efficiently. It is essential that you are physically fit and able to work at height.
- You will liaise closely with your in-house technical team and service dispatch coordinator who plan and provide your daily work schedules.
- At ENERCON, our ambition for every technician is to give you the skills and competence to become highly effective.
- You may be required to assist in mechanical tasks and will be offered training to become multi-skilled.
- Once you have completed key training, you will work with 35KV (high voltage) switching.
- We provide you with essential PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), tools, work vehicles, IT equipment, and all training necessary for the role.
The Key Qualities And Experience That We Look For:
- Minimum level 3 qualification in Electrical or Engineering.
- Time served apprentice Electrician.
- A passion for Wind Energy and the importance of Health and Safety in the role.
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft applications.
- A proactive, motivated, and resourceful team player.
- A desire to learn and complete all relevant training and courses.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and complete your work to the highest standards.
- Previous turbine experience is beneficial.
- A full, valid UK (United Kingdom) driving licence.
What We Offer You:
- Your starting salary is £38,000 per annum.
- Your hours of work are 7.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Weekend on-call operates on a rota basis, between the hours of 7.30 am to 4.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. You will receive a payment of £75 per day, as well as 1.5× basic salary for the on-call hours you work.
- Overtime is paid x1.5 basic pay.
- Bank holidays are paid at x1.5 plus a day’s leave in lieu.
- An overnight allowance is applicable when you are required to travel.
- You receive 33 days annual leave (25 days leave plus 8 public holidays).
