Your role as an Electrical Project Manager at ENERCON Wind Energy UK involves joining our Project Management team in Edinburgh. You will work on projects in the UK and Ireland with occasional travel to other European countries. It is essential that you live within a commutable distance from our office to work closely with our Project Management team.
You will have a background in Electrical Project Management, specifically in electrical power systems, power generation, power distribution, and contract management. You will offer technical support and guidance to all stakeholders including customers, sales teams, and network operators. The main purpose of the role is to provide high-quality technical advice during the initiation and planning phase of projects.
Together with the Construction Manager, you will create a project timeline, identifying costs, downtimes, and potential obstructions in the construction process.
Your Main Duties And Responsibilities Include:
- Offer sound technical advice for customers, sales, and utilities on specific electrical works topics.
- Work closely with the Project team to create customer offers, bills of quantities, and technical specifications for suppliers.
- Support the customer in the design of the network connection together with the network operators.
- Support Sales during the initiation phase regarding planning, creating the project time schedule, and alignment of scope of supply.
- Ensure the specification and implementation of EW-works in accordance with Health & Safety requirements as well as international and local technical requirements.
- Support the commercial department in contract and claim management.
- Negotiate with sub-contractors.
- Identify and check additional costs, downtimes, and obstructions in the construction process in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
- Complete and present detailed reports.
- Initiation and control of measures for project optimization in cooperation with the General Project Manager and other project partners.
- Act as a key contact for the customer for electrical requests in all 4 project phases.
- Responsible for work packages during the planning and installation of the wind turbine in collaboration with the internal expert teams.
Key qualities that we look for:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum qualification Level 3 / HNC Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in power generation and electrical power systems.
- High voltage distribution experience.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
- Project Management experience gained from an Electrical Industrial bias.
- A good understanding of SAP and SCADA is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work proactively, alone, or within a team.
- Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland, and internationally.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-confident manner.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Full, valid, UK driving license.
- Comfortable working at height.
