We have a new opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Project Management team in Edinburgh, overseeing Logistics for projects across Great Britain. The role is a full-time, permanent opportunity and offers hybrid-working options from our office in Edinburgh Business Park, with regular travel. It is essential that you live within a commutable distance from our office.
The role of Logistics Coordinator
You will be the main interface between transportation including unloading on-site. You will communicate effectively with the Construction Manager and Quality and Installation Works Inspector (QI IW). You will report any delays or deviations to scheduled transportation.
Your Main Role And Responsibilities
- Implementing the logistics strategy including all transport options, restrictions, end-to-end specifications (i.e. inland vessels, port selection)
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring for direct transports, "last mile", updates and replacement of Wind Turbine components
- Planning and updating of transport data in SAP
- Logistic optimization and adaptation of projects, i.e. caused by unforeseeable circumstances or to minimize costs
- Regular investigation and evaluation of the required logistic capacity (ports, storage, trucks, etc.)
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring of transport permits and contact with local authorities
- Planning and monitoring of construction site equipment
- Continuous quality control and data handling in case of deviation in transportation schedules (report & SAP)
- Supporting the Sales teams in the project development phase - tendering, negotiation and purchase of logistic services
- Supports the Construction Manager, QI IW and General Project Manager (GPM) in coordinating the correct timing of the unloading and installation team by highlighting status and deviations in the transportation schedule
- Ensure HSE requirements are followed by logistical subcontractors
- Preparation and execution follow up from logistical activities on site, in cooperation with Construction Manager and Project Manager

Key qualities that we look for
- Previous experience of UK Transport permits and licensing requirements
- Experience of working within Forwarding Agents, Carriers, or the Wind industry
- Extensive knowledge of civil works and UK HSE regulations
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- Basic knowledge in SAP
- A full, valid UK driving license
- Excellent technical understanding of project logistics
- Experience of the transportation of abnormal, heavy loads
- Team-oriented approach
- Resilience, flexibility and strong commitment
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills
- The ability to solve complex problems
- Proficient with all MS Office applications and SAP user skills
