Job Title Energy Analyst II Who We Are This position is part of the Energy Intelligence organizational unit within Enel X Global Retail, Enel X Advisory Services. Our Challenges Enel North America works closely with businesses and institutions to develop, execute, and continually refine a holistic energy strategy designed to achieve desired outcomes through a suite of solutions and services. Energy analysts are tasked with architecting these strategies, working in tandem with internal resources on their delivery, and becoming an energy expert in their assigned region(s) and or commodity. Successful managers have a firm understanding of the underlying market fundamentals, marker drivers, renewable market conditions, generation footprint, regulatory environment, utility cost models, etc. Our Team This position reports to the Manager, Energy Intelligence. This is a hybrid position based in Andover, MA. Some Examples of your Activities Key responsibilities may include: Working in tandem with internal Energy Procurement Managers and Advisors to deliver deep technical, regional, regulatory, and commodity expertise to a portfolio of clients. Producing both recurring and ad hoc analytics, and ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Developing regional expertise on assigned energy market(s): domestic U.S. natural gas and power market. Leveraging internal tools to support and deliver customer analytics: energy budgets, variance to budget, savings from default service, renewable PPA and VPPA analysis, distributed energy resource assessment (CHP, onsite solar, etc.), Var analysis, load profiles, mark to market reporting, tariff analysis, pricing indices, procurement summary analytics and ad hoc requests. Creating, enhancing, and maintaining deliverable models (Excel and Software based). Attending customer meetings as needed. Writing and reporting energy market content for internal and external market commentary. Developing process/tool improvement projects. Prospective customer work as requested. Assisting the Product team in analyzing new supply markets, concepts, and commodities as requested. Accountable for leading and contributing to structured close-out and data management process for procurement software. Assisting in the bid analysis for customer RFPs. Training other members of the Enel X organization as needed. Attending skills training to meet skills requirements and maintain certifications. Learning other Enel X products as needed, including software services and energy services. Who are we looking for Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a corporate setting preferably in the power industry. Natural gas experience a plus. BA/BS degree. Working market knowledge of the US natural gas system. Some market knowledge in US deregulated energy markets. Excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong Spreadsheet skills, experience with database queries and cost modeling. Technical writing experience. Background in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or Energy and derivatives markets. Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Education: Minimum 2 years of power or gas price structuring, risk management or analysis experience. Knowledge of electric cost components and RTO pricing in the US energy markets. Ability to read tariffs and recreate electric and natural gas utility costs. Accounting, finance, and budgeting experience. Natural gas or electric scheduling experience. Expected Outcomes: Internal customer satisfaction score is achieved.
