Enegen provides software systems for a high-profile client base of electricity generators and traders helping to facilitate the transition to Net Zero. The company constantly innovates to deliver technology advanced solutions to manage and automate the decision making process for the trading and scheduling of power generation assets. Our client portfolio ranges from traditional large portfolio players to market entrants specialising in emerging renewable generation technologies.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would be working with a group of high calibre software engineers and consultants in a complex domain affording a lot of latitude to make a significant difference to the team, business and our customers. At least 3 years experience in a previous role is a must demonstrating not only technical ability but also the versatility to scope, design and manage solutions to complex business problems. A keen interest in learning and becoming an authority in the industry subject matter will be favoured. The role involves:
- The design, build and extension of software applications in the Enegen portfolio
- Client communication at a technical level
- Find and resolve bugs to assist the support team
- Working as a core member of an agile project team
The Role:
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five years’ experience working in a similar role developing dynamic .NET applications (including web applications and web services) using the following technologies:
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Microsoft Entity Framework Core
- Ability to layout web pages ready for end user
- Database Technologies; Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite
- Excellent understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Source control
- Enjoys being a problem solver
- UK based position
- Participation in the 24x7 support team rota
Additional / Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Enthusiastic self-starter with a highly flexible approach to work
- Educated to at least degree level in a STEM subject, 2:1 or above
- Full UK driving licence an advantage
