From fine art, sport and entertainment to aviation, cyber and more, Howden Specialty brings together experts who create tailored insurance solutions for clients around the world. Join one of our Specialty Broking teams to discover how brokers understand risks, build relationships and connect clients with the right protection. You'll gain exposure to some of the world's most complex risks, work alongside specialist brokers and build relationships across the London insurance market while developing the skills needed for a successful career in insurance. The 10-week programme is designed to give you meaningful exposure to the world of insurance broking while helping you develop the knowledge, professional skills and confidence to kick start your career. Better still, our programme offers a direct pathway into our Autumn 2028 graduate roles, subject to business needs and individual performance.
**What you’ll be doing?** You will begin with a structured induction before joining one of our Specialty Broking teams to work alongside experienced specialists on real client projects.
- Jewellers - work with jewellers, luxury brands and precious metal businesses to arrange specialist insurance that protects valuable items against loss, damage or theft.
- Professional Services - help professional firms such as consultants and law firms secure insurance that protects them against risks arising from the advice and services they provide.
- Cyber - work with specialist cyber insurance markets to help organisations protect themselves against evolving digital threats such as cyber-attacks, ransomware and data breaches.
- Directors & Officers - arrange insurance that protects company directors and senior leaders against claims arising from decisions they make while running a business.
- Marine - help businesses involved in global trade protect goods, vessels and operations that move by sea, air or land.
During the programme, you'll:
- Gain a good understanding of your team’s insurance specialist product and the industries they support.
- Build strong relationships with key underwriters, clients and colleagues across the business.
- Support with client requests such as updating insurance policies with amendments or changes.
- Work alongside experienced brokers to understand how risks are assessed and coverage is negotiated and client relationships are managed.
- Learn how insurance placements are structured by helping prepare insurance slips, which set out key information about a client's risk and the coverage being arranged.

- In your penultimate year of study from any degree background.
- A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with others.
- Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Curious about the world around you, with an interest in how global events, industries and emerging risks can impact businesses.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and able to stay organised while balancing multiple priorities.
- Able to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
