Job Description:
This person will be responsible for the onboarding of our service and maintenance contracts for our clients in the midlands and southern regions. The role is mainly site based. The role will have two primary functions:
- Onboarding new contracts, putting together working procedures, liaising with planning departments, onboarding sub-contractors and establishing a working practice for site engineers and supervisors.
- Overseeing existing contracts, delivering to agreed KPIs, putting in place a continuous improvement programme and renewal of contracts within the above regions.
In addition to these core responsibilities, assistance may be given to the acquisition process where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding of contracts with customers at their sites and ensuring the smooth execution of the contracts.
- Establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of people. The role requires a team player but will also need to be able to use initiative and make relevant decisions.
- The role requires negotiating sub-contract orders and monitoring sub-contractors, planning critical dates, or working with the client’s planners.
- A contracts manager is sometimes in charge of a single scheme or may look after several smaller ones. At all times, they are the first point of contact for members of the public, clients, site managers and sub-contractors for as long as the contract lasts.
- Overseeing the renewal process of assigned contracts ensuring renewals represent good value and serve the business interests of client and supplier alike.
- Working closely with the Account Managers internally and externally.
- Working with the Service Delivery process and Service Advisors, to tailor and deliver on the service scope.
- Finding ways to save client’s time and money to tailor their schedules and increase scope.
- Commit fully to the company PDR Process.
- Place of work will be split between home or office work and being on site. A contracts manager will also have to make regular client visits. Site work can be challenging places – and Protective clothing (Provided) is compulsory when on site.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification, minimum HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, preferably an engineering degree. In the absence of official qualifications extensive time served in a similar role would be considered appropriate.
Having worked as a site manager, facilities manager, engineering manager, project or contracts manager in a manufacturing environment. Experience working as an engineer or account manager may be deemed acceptable for the right candidate if they display a good mixture of commercial and technical admin.
