Job Summary
As a Proposals Engineer , you will play a crucial role in supporting our Projects and Solutions teams by developing comprehensive and compelling technical and commercial proposals. You will work closely with our Project Engineers and Managers, Project Sales Engineers and Endress+Hauser Solution Specialists to understand customer requirements and translate them into tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Proposal Development:
- Analysing customer requirements and specifications to identify the most suitable Endress+Hauser products and solutions in collaboration with product specialists.
- Developing detailed technical proposals, including product descriptions, system diagrams and cost estimates.
- Ensuring proposals are accurate, compliant with industry standards and aligned with our company's technical and commercial strategies.
- Proactively identifying potential maintenance and repair activities during the proposal development stage.
- Incorporating MRO considerations into the overall proposed project plan, including spare parts and service contracts.
- Quality Gate Maintenance: Adhering to internal quality standards and processes throughout the proposal development phase.
- Conducting thorough reviews of proposals to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Implementing continuous improvement measures to enhance proposal quality.
- Project Support:
- Collaborating with project teams to provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assisting in the development of technical documentation and handover packages.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Building and maintaining relationships with third-party manufacturers and fabricators to ensure timely and cost-effective proposals and procurement of components and systems.
- Coordinating with Customer Specialist Team and Endress+Hauser production centres at proposal stage to optimize proposed production schedules and delivery times.
- Customer Support:
- Providing technical support to the sales and project teams, answering customer queries and resolving technical issues.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely and effective responses to customer enquiries.
- Product Knowledge:
- Developing a deep understanding of Endress+Hauser's product portfolio, including technical specifications, applications and benefits.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identifying opportunities to improve the proposal process, such as streamlining workflows or enhancing proposal templates.
- Contributing to the development of new proposal tools and methodologies.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Control or similar STEM)
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Desirable:
- Experience with engineering design software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, ISA)
- Previous experience in a technical sales or engineering role
