Service Engineer – (Instrumentation / Process Automation) – CEMS Endress+Hauser 45,000-50,000 + Bonus + Company Car

Role + Responsibilities for a Service Engineer:

  • At Endress+Hauser we are looking for a Service Engineer for the Northern England region with some National travel including Ireland. You will be working on various customer sites including Energy from Waste facilities and power stations.
  • Main responsibilities for a Service Engineer include:
    • Establishing and maintaining the detailed knowledge of products and services necessary for ongoing support, repair and maintenance of SICK supported equipment.
    • Establishing the relevant knowledge of legislation according to products and processes, in particular Performance Monitoring, Health & Safety and Risk Assessments.
    • Liaising and communicating with customers, 3rd party suppliers and internal employees in order to provide maximum availability of service and, where appropriate, identifying revenue opportunities and areas for performance improvement.
    • Carrying out commissioning of equipment, providing breakdown support, and delivering basic customer training as required.
    • Planning site visits and attending customer sites in order to carry out repairs and maintain equipment with a view to commercial efficiency, viability and customer satisfaction. This will include travel, stay away overnight or – on very rare occasions - work at weekends may be required as part of the 24/7 breakdown rota, in which the successful candidate can opt into (opting into the 24/7 scheme brings an industry leading remuneration package).
    • Working in conjunction with the Sales and Service team to actively and proactively generate sales activities to achieve financial targets whilst maintaining targeted profit margins.
    • Communicating regularly with Manager, Market Product Manager and Sales Specialist - PA and assisting with lead generation and market intelligence.
    • Working with the Service Manager to establish contracts and identifying service revenue opportunities.
    • Taking direct responsibility - in agreement with the Service Manager - for certain specified projects and customers.
    • Attending and participating in training courses and Service Meetings when requested.

Qualification + Profile for a Field Service Engineer:

  • Experience of working within a field service role, in particular on customer based sites.
  • Background and experience in the Gas analysis or Gas detection Industry preferred.
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering and / or Chemistry or equivalent business experience.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Have a high degree of customer service skills.

Requirements for the role of a Service Engineer:

  • Must hold a driving licence.
  • Have a flexible approach to the role as some jobs require working outside the contractual working hours, being away from home (when technically competent) and be expected to participate in a 24/7 response rota for Service Contracts.
