At Endress+Hauser, we don’t just measure processes — we build trusted partnerships that help industries operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably. As a family‑owned global leader in industrial measurement and automation, we take a long‑term view: investing in our people, our technology and our relationships. We’re now looking for a Project Engineer to join our high‑performing Projects Acquisition Team in Manchester, supporting the growth of complex, high‑value customer projects across the UK.
The role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role from invite‑to‑bid through to order placement and customer acceptance. You’ll own the technical and commercial definition of projects, acting as the key interface between customers, sales, execution teams and our global production centres. This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two projects are the same — ideal for someone who enjoys technical challenge, customer interaction and working across multifunctional teams.
What you’ll be doing as a Project Engineer:
- Leading the technical and commercial acquisition of multiple customer projects, from RFQ review to contract award
- Translating customer specifications into engineered solutions and competitive proposals
- Managing risk, scope, cost and schedule during the acquisition phase
- Acting as the main customer point of contact, building trust and long‑term relationships
- Collaborating with Sales, Execution, Solutions, Service, Documentation, Global Production Centres and third‑party suppliers
- Preparing project documentation including datasheets, calculations and technical clarifications
- Supporting negotiations to agree pricing, technical scope and commercial terms
- Ensuring smooth handover to the execution team and supporting delivery through to completion
What we’re looking for in a Project Engineer:
- A post‑secondary qualification in Engineering or Technology (instrumentation, process control, electrical, mechanical, chemical or similar)
- Previous experience in industrial or process projects, including experience in project management or project acquisition
- Strong technical understanding with a commercial mindset
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with customers and internal stakeholders
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools; experience with Salesforce, SAP or similar systems is an advantage
- Professional certification (PMP, APM, PRINCE2) is beneficial but not essential
Why join Endress+Hauser?
- The security of working for an international family‑owned company who are a global driver within measurement instrumentation.
- Excellent training facilities and personal development plans for your career growth
- Family social events throughout the year
- Increase in annual leave with length of service.
