Reporting to: Managing Director
We’re looking for an experienced Head of HR & Learning and Development to lead our HR and L&D function and play a key role as part of the Leadership Team. You will shape and deliver the people agenda, as well as ensure robust HR governance and compliance. You’ll lead a talented HR & L&D team and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, all within an emerging matrix environment.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and develop the HR & L&D team, embedding high standards and continuous improvement
- Own HR strategy, policies and processes, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and ISO13485 requirements
- Act as escalation point for complex employee relations and people risk
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and succession planning
- Use HR data and insight to support workforce planning and decision‑making
- Support reward, benefits, payroll governance and people‑related reporting
- Champion diversity, inclusion and employee wellbeing
About you:
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident influencer with credibility at senior leadership level
- Pragmatic, professional and solutions‑focused
- Previous experience within a similar, regulated environment would be a distinct advantage
- A working awareness of operating within a matrix structure would also be an advantage
