The Campaigns and Policy Support Officer will provide administration, coordination and policy support to the Communications Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing administrative tasks such as minute taking, booking meeting rooms and events, managing calendars and scheduling meetings, and handling incoming calls and emails.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the campaigns and policy inbox, coordinating responses and ensuring enquiries are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Providing support to organise parliamentary events in Westminster and devolved administrations, including during Endometriosis Action month.
  • Monitoring policy and political developments across the UK, including key debates, parliamentary questions, and select committee activities.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for parliamentary influencing and proposing ideas to the team.
  • Identifying opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis across all four nations.
  • Coordinating and providing administrative support for work with government groups such as APPGs and devolved equivalents, managing email groups, booking meetings and events, providing briefings, writing minutes, and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Setting up and drafting campaigns content for e‑actions using Engaging Networks.
  • Supporting the drafting of policy papers and consultations, including analysis and research.
  • Contributing to policy work by producing government consultation responses, writing letters to politicians, and producing background briefings ahead of parliamentary meetings.
  • Developing key policy and campaign messages for public campaigns.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the Campaigns and Communications Team by providing administrative support to the Head of Campaigns and Communications.
  • Supporting the CEO and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the charity, and assisting with general organisational duties.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
  • Experience working in a policy, public affairs or campaigning setting.
  • Ability to grasp and communicate policy issues.
  • Strong writing and proof‑reading skills with great attention to detail.
  • Proven communication skills, including excellent written and verbal presentation.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive self‑starter with initiative and teamwork.
  • Commitment and demonstrable interest in women’s health and endometriosis.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using databases.
  • Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Willingness to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility.
  • Strong time‑management and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Right to work in the UK and be based in the UK.
  • Desirable: Experience working with volunteers.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of health policy, NHS structures and health care delivery systems.
  • Desirable: Experience using an e‑lobbying tool such as Engaging Networks.
