Help us bring our fundraising and community events to life across the South Coast. Endometriosis South Coast is a registered charity supporting people living with endo and we need enthusiastic local volunteers to help us deliver impactful events that raise vital funds and build community.
What difference will you make? Every event ESC delivers is an opportunity to raise vital funds, build community, and show people with endometriosis that they are not alone. Your contribution as an Events Volunteer will sit right at the heart of that. Without volunteers like you, our events simply would not happen. You will be the friendly face that greets guests as they arrive, the steady pair of hands that keeps things running smoothly, and the person who helps our small team punch well above its weight. The funds raised at our events go directly towards sustaining and growing ESC's services — including our monthly support meetings, awareness campaigns, and the resources we provide to people at some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Every raffle prize sourced, every guest made to feel welcome, and every event that runs without a hitch contributes to that. Beyond the immediate impact, your involvement helps ESC grow its presence across the South Coast. The more we are seen, the more people find us — and the more people we can support.
For you, this is also an opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience in events and community fundraising for a registered charity, to build your network, and to be part of something that genuinely matters.
What are we looking for?
- We are looking for warm, reliable, and proactive people who genuinely care about making a difference to those living with endometriosis.
- You do not need to have personal experience of the condition — but you do need to share our commitment to supporting people through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Experience
We ask for at least 3 years of relevant experience. This could come from events, hospitality, customer-facing roles, fundraising, community work, or volunteering — what matters most is that you are comfortable in a busy, people-focused environment and know how to take direction and get things done.
The most important qualities
- Above all, we need people who are dependable. Our events rely on volunteers showing up prepared, on time, and ready to contribute.
- If plans change, we ask that you let us know as early as possible — communication is key.
- We are also looking for people who are warm and approachable. Many of the people who come to our events may be at a vulnerable point in their journey with endometriosis. A friendly face and a welcoming manner make a real difference.
Practical Skills
A good chunk of this role is remote admin work carried out between events — updating trackers on SharePoint, sending outreach emails to local businesses for raffle prizes and donations, and supporting the Team Leader with event preparation. You should be comfortable working independently on small tasks online and confident using basic digital tools.
Local presence
We are particularly keen to hear from volunteers who are based on the South Coast and able to attend events in person. While some of our volunteers contribute primarily remotely, in-person support on event days is where the impact is most visible — and most needed.
Team fit
You will be working as part of a small, close-knit team under the direction of an Events Team Leader. We are not looking for someone who needs a great deal of hand-holding — we want people who can read a briefing, ask sensible questions, and get on with it. At the same time, this is a genuinely supportive team and there will always be someone to turn to if you are unsure.
Desirable But Not Essential
Experience in the charity or voluntary sector is a bonus, as is any knowledge of endometriosis or women’s and gender-diverse health. Most importantly, we want people who care — about the cause, about the people we support, and about doing a good job.
What will you be doing?
As an Events Volunteer, you will support our Events Team Leaders before and on the day of events. Tasks vary depending on what is needed, but typically include:
- Welcoming and supporting guests at events
- Helping set up and close down the event space
- Carrying out on-the-day tasks as directed by the Team Leader
- Supporting with pre-event admin such as updating planning trackers and sending outreach emails (e.g. contacting local businesses for raffle prizes and donations)
This is a hands-on, practical role where no two events are the same. You will be part of a small, friendly team and your contribution will directly support ESC's ability to deliver events that change lives. We are particularly keen to hear from volunteers who are based locally and able to attend events in person. We ask for at least 3 years of relevant experience — whether in events, hospitality, fundraising, or community work.
