Lead ESC's community presence across the South Coast. As our Outreach Team Lead, you'll manage our volunteer team, oversee event staffing, and act as the vital link between our outreach volunteers and our trustee board.
Endometriosis South Coast is a registered charity supporting people along the South Coast who are living with or being diagnosed with endometriosis. We provide peer support, education, and community connection to ensure no one faces this condition alone. The role is one of our senior volunteer positions, requiring roughly 1‑2 hours per week and delivering significant impact.
Responsibilities- Line‑manage our Community & Outreach Event Coordinator, providing regular check‑ins, guidance, and sign‑off on event bookings.
- Lead our broader group of outreach volunteers, ensuring they are briefed, fairly scheduled, and properly supported.
- Ensure each confirmed event is fully staffed by maintaining an up‑to‑date picture of volunteer availability, confirming attendance ahead of events, and managing any last‑minute changes with composure.
- Act as the key link between the volunteer team and the Trustee Lead for Community & Outreach, providing structured, regular updates and advocating for volunteers.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of ESC's outreach activity, identifying growth opportunities and reviewing the events calendar.
- At least three years of experience in a team leadership, coordination, or management role.
- Strong people skills, including the ability to provide clear, dependable guidance and support to volunteers.
- Excellent organisational ability—methodical, proactive, and capable of managing a full events calendar.
- Sound judgement, able to identify and escalate issues promptly and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A genuine commitment to ESC's mission, whether through personal experience of endometriosis or a broader commitment to health equity.
- Working within the voluntary or charity sector.
- Familiarity with the South Coast community landscape.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles.
- Experience acting as a liaison between operational teams and senior stakeholders or governance structures.
