Help ESC show up where our community already is. Manage our Facebook page, create events, and share our support groups across local community pages. If you have at least 3 years of experience managing social media, are organised and people-focused, we'd love to hear from you.
Your work will play a direct and vital role in helping Endometriosis South Coast reach the people who need us most. For many individuals living with endometriosis, finding support is not straightforward. People often spend years feeling dismissed, isolated, or unsure where to turn. Facebook is one of the main ways people in our region search for local help, whether through community groups, events, or recommendations. By managing our presence on this platform, you will ensure that when someone goes looking for support, they find a charity that is active, welcoming, and ready to respond.
Your input will transform our Facebook page into a consistent and reliable point of connection. This means messages are answered, events are visible and easy to access, and our presence in community groups is regular and thoughtful. That consistency builds trust, which is essential for a community that has often experienced barriers to accessing care and support.
The outreach element of your role is particularly impactful. By sharing our support groups and events into local Facebook communities, you will help us reach people who may never have come across Endometriosis South Coast otherwise. A single post in the right group at the right time could be the moment someone realises they are not alone.
You will also directly support the success of our events. Clear, well-managed Facebook Events make it easier for people to attend, share with others, and stay engaged with our work, helping us grow our community and increase attendance at support groups across the South Coast.
Internally, your contribution will free up capacity within our small volunteer team, allowing us to focus on developing services, partnerships, and advocacy. By taking ownership of Facebook, you will strengthen a key part of our communications that we currently lack the resources to manage consistently.
Ultimately, you will help ensure that more people feel seen, informed, and supported, and you will be part of creating those first points of connection that can make a real difference to someone navigating a complex and often isolating condition.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a warm, reliable, and community-minded volunteer who is confident representing an organisation online with professionalism and empathy. The most important requirement for this role is at least three years' experience using Facebook regularly, with a strong understanding of how the platform works. Ideally, this will include experience managing a Facebook Page, Group, or community space, but we are open to a range of backgrounds as long as you are confident navigating key features such as Pages, Events, Groups, and Messenger.
You should be organised and consistent, able to take ownership of the Facebook page and ensure it remains active, up to date, and responsive. This includes managing messages and comments in a timely and thoughtful way, and keeping event information accurate and accessible. Strong communication skills are essential. You will be engaging with people who may be navigating pain, uncertainty, or frustration, so the ability to respond with empathy, sensitivity, and inclusive, trauma-informed language is key.
Good judgement is also important, particularly when posting in community groups, where you will need to adapt your tone to suit different audiences and follow group guidelines. You should be comfortable working within a clear structure, including a content approval process, and confident following guidance to ensure all posts align with ESC's tone of voice and values. Experience with Meta Business Suite would be a bonus.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, approachable, and genuinely motivated by helping people access support. Your ability to show up consistently and communicate with care will make a meaningful difference to the people we support.
What will you be doing?
We are seeking a reliable and community-minded volunteer to manage the Facebook presence of Endometriosis South Coast (ESC), ensuring that people across the South Coast can easily find, connect with, and access our support. Endometriosis South Coast is an inclusive charity supporting people navigating the diagnosis journey or living with endometriosis. We run monthly support groups, awareness campaigns, and community events, all with the aim of ensuring no one faces this condition alone.
Facebook is one of the primary ways people in our region discover us, particularly through local community groups and events. This role is focused on consistency, engagement, and community outreach, rather than content creation. The volunteer will take ownership of the ESC Facebook page, ensuring it remains active, up to date, and welcoming. This includes managing the inbox and comments, responding to messages in a timely and compassionate way, and maintaining accurate page information so that anyone who finds us can quickly understand who we are and how to access support.
A key priority of the role is events management. You will create and maintain Facebook Events for ESC's support groups, awareness sessions, and fundraising activities, ensuring all details are clear, accurate, and linked to our Eventbrite listings. Well-managed events are essential to helping people attend and share our work within their own networks.
Another central responsibility is community outreach through local Facebook groups. ESC already has access to a wide network of established community groups across the South Coast. You will share information about upcoming support groups and events in these spaces, adapting your tone to suit each group and ensuring posts are respectful, appropriate, and aligned with group guidelines. This is one of the most impactful parts of the role, as it helps us reach people who may not yet know that support exists.
You will also support the ongoing optimisation of the Facebook page, making use of Facebook's tools for organisations, and keep simple records of performance (such as engagement or reach), providing brief monthly updates to the Marketing Manager.
We ask that applicants have a minimum of three years' experience using Facebook, including confident use of Pages, Groups, and Events. Experience managing a Facebook presence for an organisation, community group, or cause.
