The Electrical Technician is responsible for safe and continuous operation of electrical infrastructure and electrical systems in accordance with safety regulations and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Key Duties:
- You will support new equipment installations and commissioning activities while contributing to long-term maintenance planning, risk assessments and the development of technical documentation.
- You will manage the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including high-voltage power supplies and switchboards, low-voltage systems, motor control and automation systems, and safety interlocks and emergency shutdown (ESD) systems.
- You will maintain and test critical safety devices and undertake planned maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
- You will carry out preventative maintenance tasks to ensure safe operations and maximise asset reliability, including thermography, UPS health checks, insulation testing, motor condition monitoring and earth bonding checks.
- You will complete hazardous area electrical equipment inspections and repairs, respond to onsite breakdowns through effective fault finding, and identify, recommend and implement improvements.
- You will also collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery and carry out routine trip and alarm testing to verify system integrity and operational readiness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant experience as a time-served Electrical Technician with level 3 Diploma
- Experienced with various industrial process industry electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of HV & LV systems and VSDs.
- Experience with complying with Safe Systems of Work (PTW, LOTO, MOC etc)Accredited COMPEX certification desirable but not essential.
