The purpose of the Plastic Technician is to ensure safe, efficient and consistent preparation and feeding of plastic waste into the plastic to oil process. The technician is responsible for unloading, inspecting and processing plastic feedstock to meet plant demands, maintaining steady flow to the pyrolysis unit. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will operate a forklift truck daily and collaborate with the operations team to meet performance targets whilst maintaining strict HSE standards.
Key Duties:
- Receive, unload and inspect feedstock deliveries
- Process delivery to site using a weighbridge system
- Manage storage of plastic bales
- Support the Production Team Leader and Plastics Manager with daily tasks and production targets
- Handle waste materials for production
- Operate and monitor processes following standard procedures
- Always work safely and follow site safety rules
- Communicate with control room operators and other team members to optimise plant performance
- Complete daily checks and safety records
- Keep work areas clean and follow housekeeping standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of driving improvements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities
- Valid Forklift Truck Licence – certification must be in date and compliant with legal requirement
