Office Administrator Location: Salisbury

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Two part‑time team members, each 15–25 hours per week, depending on role split.

Shift Pattern: The office is open Monday – Friday 08:00–17:30. Shifts are predominantly afternoons, with some full days on Thursdays and Fridays.

About the role

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Logistical planning of vets' diaries
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person, and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Handling account queries and payments
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Providing a warm and welcoming experience to clients arriving at the practice

  • Previous receptionist experience essential; veterinary and equine experience a plus.
  • Experience with horses or equine knowledge desired.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritise workload essential.
  • Resilient and able to cope with busy, emotional situations.
  • Excellent communicator with strong empathy.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience dealing with the public.
  • Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems.
