We’re looking to hear from governance professionals and committee clerks who are interested in clerking governing bodies at local schools across our Trust. This opportunity is ideal for experienced committee clerks who enjoy flexible working and want to make a meaningful contribution to strong, effective school governance.

Role

  • Preparing agendas with the Chair of the committee
  • Ensure meeting documents are received and uploaded to the portal in advance of the meeting
  • Take minutes and distribute
  • Follow up any actions to be taken and report back at the next meeting
  • Advise the Chair of statutory requirements and the operation and remit of the committee.

Locations

Schools across the Midlands – our schools are based in the Tamworth and Wolverhampton areas and consideration will be given to individual preferences.

Engagements

Flexible, part‑time, term‑time (remote and in‑person meetings). Committee meeting dates are set and are held either during the day or evenings. Successful candidates will work on a self‑employed or casual contract basis depending on an individual’s circumstances. Travelling expenses will be payable. We envisage that 12 hours per committee will be required and are flexible (except for attendance at committee meetings).
