This client is looking for a number of Project Managers who will deliver bespoke engineering solutions to customers on time, on budget and to specification whilst following internal company processes for project delivery, complying with required standards and observing customer specific documentation and communication needs.
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver custom development Projects on time, on budget and to specification ensuring Projects are properly planned, resourced and executed in line with internal processes.
- Assist with proposals and project justification by gathering and reviewing preliminary information for the development collected from various internal and external stakeholders such as customers, GBMs and Engineers.
- Create and implement a Project Management Plan identifying project scope, tasks, milestones, deliverables, budget, stakeholders, risks and any other key information needed to deliver the project successfully.
- Construct and maintain a project schedule using an appropriate WBS, with milestones and review points clearly identified. Ensure all tasks are completed and track project progress against the baseline.
- Monitor costs against the agreed budget, calculating CTC and raising any deviations with management in a timely manner. Regularly report spend and other KPIs in line with company processes.
- Ensure that comprehensive project requirements are produced, reviewed and confirmed by stakeholders, using expert resources across the company where appropriate. Demonstrate that all requirements have been appropriately verified and the performance and characteristics of the system have been fully documented.
- Manage project related risks by identifying, documenting, assessing and mitigating them where possible, raising them to senior management where appropriate.
- Lead and participate in internal and external gateway reviews, ensuring that all actions are recorded and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with internal and external customer standards and procedures.
- Ensure Customer specific Project documentation is delivered including manuals, manufacturing record books, interface specifications, handling/storage procedures and test & inspection plans.
- Deliver timely and thorough targeted communication to all those with a direct and indirect interest including internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake project closeout reviews to gather lessons learned that can be fed back into improvements in processes and procedures.
Essential:
- Proven Project management expertise within a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Proven ability to deliver results through others within a matrix organisation.
- Proven experience of liaising directly with customers and delivering the highest possible levels of customer service.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills including work scheduling, prioritising and multi-tasking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
- Problem solving & fault finding.
- Educated to degree level BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline.
- APM PMQ, PRINCE 2 or similar project management certification.
