The Business Development Manager role requires a pro-active candidate from a technical electrical/mechanical sales or engineering background with a degree or HND level of competence, with experience in the field of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Orders/Sales Budgets set.
- Generate high quality sales leads for the business.
- Identify new business opportunities for standard and custom products and work with the team to convert the opportunity into Orders/Sales.
- Key account management.
- Work to KPIs as set by the Sales manager.
- Develop customer visits to Key accounts, agents, and distributors for new opportunities.
- Ability to self-manage.
- Work remotely and as a team member with internal and external Sales team.
- Identify potential opportunities for new business within other parts of the company.
- Log new opportunities onto a CRM based system.
- Update new and existing opportunities on a CRM based system.
- General sales administration as required.
- Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
- Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data.
- Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results.
- Assist in the development of an NPI process.
- Generate proposals and standard quotations.
- Assist the Sales Manager in generating forecasting information (Order Intake/Sales Output).
Qualifications:
- A Degree or HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience / Additional Skills:
- Technical Sales and Design experience in the field of EMI.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Hands-on experience with CRM software.
- Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques.
- Fast learner and passion for sales.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations.
- Experience in commercial area with customers can be beneficial.
- Proficient written, verbal, telephone, and presentation skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes.
- IT proficient in Microsoft Word and latest Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, organise and prioritise responsibilities.

Work Environment:
This is a home-based position and it is expected that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time visiting customers in the designated territory. There will be a regular need to visit the design and manufacturing facility 1 or 2 times per month, and a need to visit overseas customers, agents and distributors on an as-required basis.
