The Role

As a Windows Engineer, you will provide operational BAU support, administration, configuration and technical expertise across Infrastructure and Workplace Windows environments within Restricted Secret and above networks. You will operate as a Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical resource, supporting incident resolution, maintenance, patching, monitoring and continuous improvement while ensuring services remain secure, resilient, and compliant.

  • Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for Windows-related incidents, including investigation, remediation and incident response.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs, escalating where appropriate.
  • Support high-severity incident management and coordinate with Incident and Technical Managers.
  • Identify recurring issues and underlying root causes, contributing to long-term solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and participate in lessons-learned and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers, inventory information and technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain technical knowledge articles, standard fixes and problem-resolution documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with security guidance, technical standards and adopted security postures.
  • Work with third-party service providers on troubleshooting, technical support and network management.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers and contribute to service meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Windows technologies, products, practices and industry trends.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Active DV security clearance – essential due to the nature of the project.
  • Proven experience as a Windows Engineer, ideally with a broad generalist background across both Infrastructure and Workplace environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Windows Server
    • Windows OS and Desktop Applications
    • Active Directory (AD) and Access Management

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams, service managers and third-party suppliers.

Important Information

This is a 100% site-based position due to the nature and security requirements of the network. Candidates must already hold active DV clearance to be considered for the role.
