DevOps Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join our client, a world leader in bookings and transfer solutions.

The role is fully remote, with occasional visits to the office required.

We are looking for someone to take ownership of the AWS environments, working alongside the senior management team to develop and grow your role.

You will thrive in a fast-paced organization where technology is central to everything we do. Working alongside passionate and innovative people, your key areas of responsibility will include:

1. Maintaining current AWS workloads in multiple environments.
2. Designing, deploying, and maintaining new infrastructure based on application requirements.
3. Communicating with management, developers, and third-party technology providers.
4. Reviewing security practices regularly and implementing any required changes.
5. Driving infrastructure improvements and migrations to new services and technologies.
6. Planning and leading maintenance schedules and windows.
7. Supporting and identifying faults both in and out of hours.
8. Reviewing costs and budgets for infrastructure in all environments.

Skills & Experience

You will have experience working with and maintaining highly available AWS workloads in a production environment using many of the following services: EC2 Autoscaling, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, WAF, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, VPC, S3, Route 53, and IAM.

We are also looking for proficiency in:

1. Server configuration with Ansible.
2. Infrastructure provisioning with CloudFormation.
3. Working with Linux and Windows Server.
4. Maintaining a CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins.
5. CLI scripting (e.g., Bash or Python).
6. PHP, Python, and Node.js.
7. Consul and Vault.
8. Highly Available RabbitMQ.
9. Windows Server, SQL Server, & Active Directory.
10. Redshift and Grafana.
11. Blue/Green Deployments.
12. PCI-DSS Compliance.
13. Working with monolithic applications.
14. Future direction to break down services & microservices, containerization, etc.
15. Serverless stacks and event-driven architecture.
16. Disaster Recovery.
