We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various domestic sites and be Gas Safe Registered. Applicants should possess strong mechanical knowledge, practical experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain gas systems in domestic settings
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks effectively
- Conduct inspections to identify faults or potential issues within gas plumbing infrastructure
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with assembly of gas plumbing components and systems during installation projects
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, safety standards, and client specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed for records
Skills
- Gas Safe Registered
- Driving licence required
- Proficiency in welding techniques relevant to gas plumbing applications
- Strong knowledge of gas plumbing systems, including pipe fitting, drainage, and gas water supply networks
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to system troubleshooting and repairs
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical reading
- Carpentry skills beneficial for supporting installation tasks
